THE
ANCIENT STAR TEMPLE OF AVALON

At
QuestCon07 Nicholas R Mann - a wellknown aficionado of the Glastonbury
mysteries - will reveal how an ancient astronomical observatory
lies at the heart of the Avalonian landscape. He will show how
prehistoric sky-watchers modelled key parts of the island, including
the Tor and the summit of St Edmund's Hill, to refine their
celestial observations. Particular attention will be paid to
precession and the orientation of the observatory to events
in 2012.

Extraordinary
view of events as seen from the Mound, St Edmund's Hill, west
of Glastonbury Tor, on the winter solstice each year. The rising
sun is seen to quite literally climb up the Tor over a period
of around 30 minutes, before lifting up into the air (Pic Credit

Nicholas
Mann is an internationally published author of many books including
'The Isle of Avalon,' 'Glastonbury Tor,' 'The Sacred Geometry
of Washington DC,' 'The Silver Branch Cards' and 'Sedona: Sacred
Earth.' He lives in Glastonbury with his partner Philippa Glasson,
with whom he co-authored the forthcoming book 'The Astronomy
of Avalon: An Ancient Observatory Revealed.'
